As a joinery manufacturer we were looking for vacuum pressing solutions for our veneering needs. As we couldn’t find suitable machinery we began to manufacture membrane presses in Poland.

We were searching for the right CNC machine for our production needs. After an extensive search, we came across a Polish supplier who offered a much more affordable option compared to the well-known UK brands. Eventually, we decided to start distributing their machines in the UK.

Founder Charles Slowikowski made the decision to fully focus on supplying affordable membrane presses, edgebanders, and CNC machines to woodworking and signage clients across the UK.

Out of nowhere, the Polish CNC supplier suddenly shifted into a greedy mode, increasing prices by 45% specifically for the UK market. What initially felt like a complete shock turned out to be a blessing in disguise. That’s when the FABERTEC brand was born.

It took nearly 10 months, multiple visits to over six factories, and countless rounds of designing, redesigning, and fault-proofing. After many sleepless nights, the first order of four machines was finally placed.

We started with the M1, and just a few months later, placed our first order for three M2 machines. That’s when we opened our humble little showroom—on a farm. To James, Mark, Paul, Simon, Filip, Michael, Steve, Miki, Kevin… thank you for believing in us. Without you, Fabertec wouldn’t exist. You gave us form. You made us real.

We hit the market like a storm, affordable prices, solid quality, a personal touch, and always stepping up to solve challenges. Clients started to notice. By the end of 2020, we hired our very first employee.

After over 8 months of research and several factory visits—both in-person before COVID and virtually during the pandemic—we finally launched our first fiber laser machine: the FABERTEC FL2.

It was our answer to the market’s need for affordable fiber lasers. From that point on, every spare penny went into growing the Fabertec fiber laser family in the years that followed.

2022 – We didn’t stop for a single day, even during the toughest times of COVID. That determination helped us reach new heights, improving our products, expanding into new markets, and building a stronger foundation. We moved into a brand new 9,000 sq. ft. facility in North Lincolnshire, welcomed three new team members, and upgraded our systems to keep things running smoother than ever.

We opened an additional 4,000 sq. ft. space dedicated solely to our Fiber Laser Showroom. Launched the new FL3 model, a fully enclosed, affordable fiber laser designed to meet growing demand. Our team grew again, now 7 strong, allowing us to serve Fabertec clients even more efficiently. We also rolled out systems for field engineers, launched a brand-new website, introduced a CRM for better client support, and began automating key operations to keep everything running like clockwork.

Thanks to our deep experience in manufacturing, joinery, and furniture production, many of our clients began trusting us to supply their cutting knives, drill bits, and tooling needs. We expanded our fiber laser range once again, introducing our third model:
a fully enclosed, shuttling double bed fiber laser, available from 2kW to 12kW.

Built for high-volume cutting and nonstop production, this machine is designed for businesses that demand speed, safety, and reliability, without breaking the bank.

With this launch, Fabertec now offers a complete range of fiber laser solutions for every size of workshop.

We also made a big push this year by stepping into two major exhibitions.

In just one month, we made the bold decision to take the leap and showcase our fiber laser range at the MACH Exhibition 2024 in April—one of the UK’s biggest manufacturing events.

Soon after MACH, we returned to the NEC Birmingham for the Materials & Finishes Show, where we connected with clients from the woodworking, signage, and interiors industries.

Both exhibitions helped us reach new audiences and strengthened Fabertec’s presence across multiple industries in the UK.

In 2024, we launched the Fabertec Fiber Laser Welder, a compact yet powerful machine available in 1.5kW to 3kW models.

Designed for versatility, this single unit handles cutting, welding, and cleaning, making it the perfect 3-in-1 solution for modern fabrication workshops.

To complement our growing range of CNC routers, we introduced five new models of edgebanders under the Fabertec E-Series: E1, E2, E2 Mini, E3, E4, and E5.

From compact workshops to full-scale production lines, there’s now a Fabertec edgebander to suit every setup and budget.

In 2025, we launched FABERTEC PHOTONICS, the UK’s first and only dedicated centre for fiber laser source repairs.

With Fabertec Photonics, we committed ourselves to deeper learning, in-house training, and developing hands-on knowledge in fiber laser technology and repair, so we can continue offering fast, reliable solutions right here in the UK.

We officially launched FABERTEC IRELAND in 2025, following a wave of demand, continuous client requests, and the clear lack of reliable CNC and fiber laser suppliers in the region.

With a dedicated presence now in Ireland, we’re able to offer faster support, local stock, and direct service to workshops across the country, backed by the same values that built our name in the UK.
