This M2 installation takes us into a very different type of workshop. Based in West Yorkshire, the team specialises in onboard power systems and electrical installations for commercial and specialist vehicles.

A lot of this work requires components to be made specifically around the vehicle and the equipment being installed. The Fabertec M2 2030 gives them a 2000 × 3000mm working area for machining sheet materials and producing custom panels, mounting components and other parts required across their projects.

With designs prepared digitally and sent directly to the CNC, the team can produce one-off pieces as well as repeat components when required. The larger bed also gives them plenty of room when a project calls for bigger panels.

It’s another good example of an M2 going into a workshop outside the traditional joinery and furniture industries, showing just how varied CNC applications can be.
